I’ve joined a Linkedin videography group, and came across an article by http://www.fullthreesixty.com/
They ask the question: Why do businesses need videos, and explain why. One conclusion the writer (whose name is Mark) comes to is: There is nothing out there that builds greater rapport than video…and people will never feel like they know the “real” you until they see you on video. Why?…
because text-based content is a very one-dimensional. “With video they see your eyes, your smiles, your laughs, your feelings, & your emotions…And that’s the secret.”
I’ve believed this to be true for some years now, and am convinced more than ever that website videos can bring a businesses’ online presence to life. This is why I am shifting the direction of Poco Productions towards creating 2-3 minute videos that emphasize having an owner talk about their business, even if it’s only 30 seconds.
Mark goes onto ask, why don’t more businesses do this? He says, “People make decisions based on feelings, their emotions towards something and it’s driven by pleasure or pain…. Personality sells, not products by themselves. If your business has web video and your competitors don’t, your business will have the advantage. I’ve seen businesses go from not many people knowing who they are to suddenly everyone knowing or discovering who they are just from video.
The number one thing that stops businesses from having a web video is not money.. it’s FEAR.”
I found this revealing, and true, because I’ve approached my potential clients who agreed with me, yes, I need a website video, but they’ll always find an excuse to not do it. It is ether fear, as he mentioned, or the thought I can get someone else to do it cheaper.
He concludes by asking a when question not a why one? “When do you plan on releasing videos on the web for your business? ” I ask that same question to all small businesses out there that want to increase their personal presence online.

I have been in semi seclusion for over a year redirecting, organizing and fine tuning my business strategy.

Basically, I am emphasizing what I think is the future trend of the internet: website videos for small businesses.

Please go to the website and look for video examples.

I also have been approached by either builders or real estate agents to produce videos for various reasons. There is also a section for that on my site.

Poco Productions is a work in progress, but my friend, Keith Parnell with JASE Group, is helping me bring my website to its final stage of development.

Today I want to explore the fast growing web video phenomena. I had a pretty good idea website videos were growing, but how fast?
In the Dec. 12, 2011 Media Buyer & Planner Today they had the article

People Watching More Ads Via Online Video Than Ever Before.
In this article it stated, ” Data released by video technology company Freewheel shows that people are watching more web videos than ever and, as part of that experience, are screening more video ads online. According to Freewheel data, online video views grew by 97% in the third quarter of 2011 over fourth quarter 2010, while video ad views grew 128%. Study findings were gleaned from an analysis of some 12 billion videos on Fox, ESPN, Turner, Univision and other media websites.”
Now this got my interest because the new direction of Poco Productions is website videos, but on a much smaller level. While Fox and ESPN might be considered “the Big Boys”, my interest is in the small business wanting to have a website presence for local clientele. What this statistic shows is the global rise in people accepting video as a means of advertising.”

What better way for a small business to advertise who they are, and what they do then a personal video of the owner appealing to a potential client the moment they arrive on a website.
In another article, Comscore.com press release gave a list of top 10 online video rankings. To no ones surprise Google-Youtube won big time.

Top 10 Video Content Properties by Unique Viewers
“Google Sites, driven primarily by video viewing at YouTube.com, ranked as the top online video content property in October with 161 million unique viewers and reached a record high of 20.9 billion videos viewed. Facebook.com ranked second with 59.8 million viewers, followed by VEVO with 57 million, Microsoft Sites with 49.1 million and Viacom Digital with 48.2 million. More than 42 billion videos were viewed during the month, with the average viewer watching a record 21.1 hours. Google Sites demonstrated the highest engagement with 7.1 hours per viewer.”

In today’s competitive Real Estate Market videos are becoming the tool to create an advantage to best advertise and communicate your property. It begins with a two minute video tour room by room, and when this is put to music, it can give a potential buyer or investor the
needed information to make a decision.
Another advertising tool is a three minute website video where you introduce yourself online to a potential client. Three fact filled minutes can combine sight, sound, motion and emotion to create an empathetic trust in you and your product. A video will allow a viewer to see you as a real person whose working hard, and this exposure will enable them to trust you, and take the next step: They will respond and contact you.
Larry Collins is the President of Real Estate Development and Investments and he came to Poco Productions with a need to make a video. He wanted to e-mail it to potential investors. We made it, uploaded it to youtube, and he shared the video along with his own appeal.
Thirty days later he had an interested investor who wanted to back his upcoming projects. For Larry, website videos worked!
See for yourself.

For 28 years I travelled the world and been to all but one state (Alaska). In the process I have learned the art of packing light and being able to shoot video in adverse situations. Travel is a unique challenge and requires experience, planning, and above all, flexibility.
My goal is to provide a potential client with an affirmative yes, I can shoot that video in Montana, be there in two days, and provide them with everything they ask, anytime, anywhere . This will come with a price; travel is not cheap these days. I can plan my own travel arrangements, including flight, over baggage, car rental, hotel, and per diem. Drive trips can also be arranged.
I have both small HD and SD cameras, wireless mics, and a 50 lb. light kit with 5 lights. I can travel alone or with a producer. Drive trips can also be arranged
