Your Business Needs an Explainer Video
My new favorite site for researching website videos is the Video Brewery. I’d like to share some of their ideas and add my own to help you potentially increase your sale rate.
As Andrew Follett, Founder and CEO of Video Brewery explains, “Part of Google’s algorithm for search rankings considers the amount of time visitors stay on your website, which is one reason online video is seeing explosive growth. Explainer videos have boomed in popularity over the past year due to their affordability and proven effectiveness in growing a business.” Following is summary of Andrew’s 10 Reasons Why Your Business Needs an Explainer Video.
10 Reasons for an Explainer Video
1. Conversion rates
According to a recent survey conducted by Video Rascal, 85 percent of people are more likely to buy a product once they see an accompanying explainer video. Explainer videos help budding business owners keep tally of how many visitors on their sites could become actual customers.
2. Clarifying Your Product
A viewer gains a better understanding of your product or service when they see and hear someone explain it. An explainer video helps you communicate your product, your vision, and you. If you, the owner, can explain all this in a concise 2 minute video where you introduce yourself, communicate facts, and end with a call to action, you increase their chances choosing you over other competing businesses.
3. Increase Interest
Images and videos to increase interest in a product. A study by The C100 says over 70 percent of Internet users watch online videos, and this may increase
another 50 percent this year.
4. Increase Rank in Google Search
Customers want to quickly understand a product, and purchase it right then and there. On average, a person takes less than a minute to make a purchasing decision. Explainer videos get their attention immediately, and in 2 minutes they’re ready to make a decision.
5. Increase Traffic to Your Website
This can happen if your video goes viral. If it’s good, (meaning well written), it’s shared, and in essence you get free advertising.
6. Better Audience Retention of Information
According to Wharton Research Center, “The average person retains only 10 percent of what they hear, but 50 percent of what they see.” If a customer likes your product, they’ll share your video with others. Word-of-mouth advertising has always been the best way to attract new customers.
7. Liven Up Your Appeal with a Video
Words, charts, and images are nice, but not cutting it in today’s quick attention world. A good video, with a well written script and solid video captures the attention of an audience immediately, and can communicate sometimes complicated subject matter quickly and clearly. Again, a viewer can decide yes or no in 2 minutes.
Again, a well written script can grab attention in the first few seconds, explain difficult sometimes confusing information clearly, and engage a potential customer.
9. Easy to Share
Youtube, the largest of video sharing sites, has made it easy to share any video, and by using keywords, can draw interest and a following to your video. Text is not as easy to share.
10. Make it Personal, Show off Your Personality
A customer becomes a repeat customer because they can put a face to your name. This helps because a person gains a sense of trust in you and in turn your products.
